State-Province Joint Engineering Laboratory of Marine Bioproducts and Technology (Xiamen University) was approved to start construction by National Development and Reform Commission, China in 2015 December. The laboratory is closely aiming at the technology development strategic objectives of Fujian province, focusing on the frontier research activities and a series of crucial technical problems in the development of marine biological industrialization, being driven by the efficient development and utilization of abundant marine biological resources, finally achieves the goals to break through the key technologies of development and utilization for marine bioactive substances and thus push forward to the industrialization of marine biological products in Fujian and worldwide in China.
The state-province joint engineering laboratory will be absorbed in the studies on the marine biological science and technology as follows, including isolation and functional identification of marine bioactive substances and drug screening platform, genetic engineering and fermentation engineering platform, marine natural antifouling agents screening platform, marine biological energy development and utilization platform, and marine health product development and formulation technology platform.This laboratory will establish the safety and efficacy evaluation of marine bioactive substances, construct research and experimental bases of marine biological products, and provide multiple marine-associated high techniques to Fujian industries for their utilization of marine biological products and industrialization.
