The Key Laboratory of Underwater acoustic communication and Marine Information Technology is built in Xiamen University approved by the Ministry of Educationin the end of 2005. It is through the acceptance of the Ministry of Education Organization in July 2009, and officially opens to the public.
The Key Laboratory aims in major scientific and technical issues of underwater acoustic communication and marine information technology, which establishes underwater acoustic communication and marine information technology two research directions. The Research focuses include: ① Marine Acoustics channel, ② Underwater acoustic communication and network, ③three-dimensional media communication, ④ ocean remote sensing, ⑤ ocean numerical simulation and analysis, ⑥sound information and sound detection. The Key Laboratory has become the open and influential research base of underwater acoustic communication and marine information technology.
